Hi,
I would like to thank you all for posting interesting topics and material. I just took my Limited license exam and passed! Scored 86 after about four weeks of preparation (+/-1200 test question) and couple of gallons coffee :D.

Right now I have little problem, I want to activate my license, but on the form its asking me for name of my company and if I will do full/part time work. I am currently employed full time and not planning to open own company like tomorrow.
Can I activate it, yet have no company?
Also, is there any benefit to be listed on someone else license?
thanks again!!
Martin

Well congratulations---- good score for a very tough exam. I would contact the license office and ask what to do as the rules change all the time. I suspect you just use your name as the business.

Go to the NBEEC site and look up the licensees. The first column is the qualifiers name. The second column is the name of the "company". Most have their licenses in their own name. part-time listing is what you need for now. You can change at anytime later on. Right now you just want to get the license in your hand. Congrats! Does your face hurt from smiling so much yesterday?

Congratulations! That's a great score, especially if it was your first time taking it.

When I first activated my license, I just used my name as the name of my company, and checked the part-time box.

Way to go and re-welcome to the Forum! :)

I can't answer the State question but will comment on a few items!

Your city has a privilege license requirement, or to say a business license. Here.

You might also consider opening a seperate bank account as a DBA,
even if it's as simple as (John Smith, DBA Electrican) :)
You can change the account and your staionary later as warranted.

Good Luck!
