Called out to fix light problem. Found a circuit that apparently had a lost neautral at one time so they took a 14-2 from the FAU and used it to supply the neautral (capped the hot) to the can light which backfed the entire circuit. I have not fixed the original problem yet becase I do not want the responsibility of this violation. Unless he is willing to pay to fix everything correct.
It is an obvious violation due to the FAU circuit no longer being dedicated but what other hazards can this cause? TIA

Some poor guy in the future who needs to work on that circuit, so he shuts it off. Little does he know there's still potential on the neutral from the fixture.... He's gonna get a big surprise!
