Can I use insulating materials to guard a grounded surface behind potentially exposed live parts (when being worked on) to achieve a Condition 2 status?

I have batteries running at ~800vdc, across a 38" aisle from other battery racks that have grounded, ventilated outer doors. This is a locked battery container, accessible only to qualified individuals, similar to a vault. No operational work will be done on a routine basis, only access / exposure would be if a battery module would have to be replaced. Our intent is to provide insulating sheets that would hang / attach to cover the grounded doors behind, while working on a battery rack. We would address this as a maintenance / operations procedure and provide appropriate training to the competent / qualified maintenances staff.
