NEC 110 - building egress/ingress

The design is for an electrical building, about 40 feet long with one set of double doors for large equipment basically in the middle of the building, on the west wall.
There are no other access or personnel doors. A 480V switchgear, well over 6 feet long sits against the east wall - it also has a 4000A horizontal bus. They’re telling me it meets code since there is a clear path out the equipment doors on the west wall. Doesn’t seem rational to me.

Does it meet the requirements in 110.26(c)(2)(a) or (c)(2)(b)?
