Hi...could anyone tell me how to find the date the 1971 (1972) NEC code was accepted for use in Virginia ? Thanks.

In my state, the department of proffesional licensing has the archives of state building standards, including what codes are adopted and when. State amendments to the code must be available as a public record, and wherever you can find them will most likely be the answer to your question. Again, mine are with DOPL

You could try the Reference Desk at your local library. Or type "24/7 reference" in your search engine, find a library that provides reference services on a 24 hour a day, 7 days a week basis, and do an on-line chat with a professional librarian. That's what they are there for.
