Hello, I'm just looking for a little clarification.
We have an existing PV system, it is tapped onto the line side of the building service, which is allowable per NEC 2014 Section 705.12(A) and 230.82(6). I'm a little confused about sizing the conductors between the line side bus and the PV system disconnect.
NEC 2014 Section 230.42(A)(1) is clear, but Section 230.42(B) says that in addition to (A), "the minimum ampacity for ungrounded conductors for specific installations shall not be less than the rating of the service disconnecting means..."
This is referring to the PV system disconnect switch, but what rating would they be referring to, the actual rating of the switch (100A in our case) or the fuses (80A.)
Thanks!
