I am confused by NEC 2017 Table 210.21(B)(3). I have duplex 15A receptacle on one circuit.

The way I see it the circuit does not have receptacles rated over 15A so 15A breaker should be provided but then I see it could be 15A or 20A next row making breaker 20A.

I am not sure would breaker be 15A or 20A?

Duplex receptacle counts as 2 receptacles. :)

Yes, mutiple 15 amp receptacles can be installed on a 20 amp OCPD. If memory serves correctly, the only difference between a 15 amp duplex receptacle and a 20 amp rated receptacle is the face plate.

Breaker must protect conductor utilized.

More than one 15 amp receptacle can be on either a 15 or 20 amp branch circuit.

Then why is their 15A breaker for receptacles not over 15A in the table?

A 20 amp load placed upon the 20 amp receptacle should cause the 15 amp breaker to activate. Therefore the table requires receptacles on a 15 amp breaker to be no greater than 15 amp.
