NEC 2020 - 406.12(4) has deleted word elementary in below paragraph.
Preschools and elementary education facilities.

So, all the teacher offices, janitor closets, mechanical, electrical rooms in most schools require tamper resistant receptacles now?

I believe that refers to the type of school (building) not rooms within the building. Removing the word elementary means the section is now applicable to any school building regardless of the age of the pupils.

Install tamper resistant receptacles in school' janitor closets, mechanical, electrical rooms, etc. seems odd to me. Thought these outlets should be installed in areas having kids presence.
