Hi, I have been in the consulting engineering practice for over two decades and have always use the optional feeder and service load calculation for residences served by a single phase service only (120/240V or 208Y/120V) but when it comes to residences with large square footage we use 208Y/120V, 3ph, 4w for which I do not believe the optional method applies.
Please let me know your opinion.
Thanks,

Re: NEC 220.82

Wow! I had never noticed the wording "...208Y/120-volt set of 3-wire service...". I always assumed a 120/208V, 3P,4W service was eligible for this optional calculation.
Nuther wrinkle in the old brain!!!
Thanks guys!
