Hey all,
Kind of a historical question here. I know the current NEC 220.83 (Optional load calculations for an existing dwelling) first appeared in the 1968 NEC as 220-8. What I'm looking for is why it diverged from <1968 NEC 220-7 (2020 NEC 220.82 - Optional load calculations for a dwelling unit). And unfortunately that's farther back than the NFPA archive has helpful notes for.
So I guess I'm asking if anyone either knows about the topic or is aware of sources/documents about/from the time period. I went through the NFPA archives from the 50s-70s and didn't find this covered in their notes. Thanks!
