NEC 240.4(G) conductor ampacities

NEC 240.4(D) allows for small conductors (#14, #12 & #10) to be rated for higher ampacities as per 240.4(G). My question deals with NEC 430. Can a non-continuous motor rated at 22A be installed on a #12 CU branch circuit? If so, where is this stated in NEC 430? Part II of NEC 430 deals with conductor ampacity, but isn't included in the sections listed in NEC 240.4(G). I'm concerned about the conductor's ampacity, not its overcurrent or overload protection. Thank you.

IMO 240.4(G) does not apply to 430 part II, but depending on the duty-cycle of the motor and applying the percentage to the 22A per table 430.22(E) you may be okay.

Actually 240.4(D) limits the overcurrent device protecting small conductors unless specifically permitted in 240.4(G). It does not limit the ampacity of the conductor.

In 430 you are permitted to use an overcurrent device to provide short circuit and ground fault protection for the branch circuit conductors in accordance with Part IV.

Hope this makes sense.
