I am alittle worried now that after I have completed all my splices along with pigtails that I may be a little short (1/2inch or so) for the 3'' rule. When I was trimming the conductors I was 3.5''.

I do have some slack in the cable I could push into the box but would need to strip more sheathing.

Should I worry?

Do they take into account when you splice and twist the conductors the exposed length will shorten?

I guess I may have over thought this.

I did not pass the first rough-in inspection due to having my laundry light feeding from the dedicated laurdry circuit, in addition not having my pigtails complete.

Can I assume the 12plus" of conductors during the first inspection was the blessing that I met the rule?
