A question regarding NEC 310.15(B)(7) and 338.10 (B)(4) on SE cable installed in thermal insulation. NEC 310.15(B)(7) allows 4/0 Al SE cable as a main power feeder for a 200 amp dwelling, but 338.10 (B)(4) requires SE cable installed in thermal insulation to be calculated from the 60 degree column on table 310.15(B)(16) which would be 150 amps for 4/0 Al. My question is this: Does table 310.15(B)(7) apply to SE main power feeders regardless of coverage in insulation?
