NEC- 373-8 (Splice a Feeder in a Switchboard???)

I have read this section... and I am looking for other interpretations.
I am looking to transition a feeder from a switchboard to another.
Is it legal to splice feeders within a switchboard?
Could this be an option to this situation?

using 2008... I think it is very similar section

I believe it can be a compliant installation provided the cabinet is large enough and the cross sectional area isn't overfilled. If you have a handbook there is a good explanation as to how to make sure you stay compliant.

There is no 373.8 in the 2008 NEC.

Yup, normally I would have looked it up in the old book but I don't have it in front of me.
