Another fellow electrician said that you can not have lights below 8ft in patient rooms that are 277volts. Only thing I can find related to 8ft limitations is NEC 2008 517.63 about anesthetizing (also called Operating Rooms) locations about using grounded systems and this does not apply to 'other than hazardous locations.' The other articles deal with 7 1/2 ft in patient care vicinity NEC 517.13 where luminaires are not required to have an insulated grounding conductor installed in the raceways.
Where is this 277volt restriction found, of course the guy who said it couldn't tell me where it is. Its not in the NEC, and I can not find any local ammendments. If its in the NEC please let me know where.
