I was looking at the above NEC section and I noticed something peculiar. NEC 600.5(A) state's:
The outlet(s) shall be supplied by a branch circuit rated at least 20 amperes that supplies no other load.
But NEC 600.5(A)(2) state's:
All Other Signs. Branch circuits that supply all other outlet signs and outline lighting systems shall be rated not to exceed 20 amperes.
It seem's that all signs and outline lighting with the exception of neon signs are limited to just a 20 ampere circuit. Neither larger or smaller, just a 20 ampere. But if the circuit supplies other loads then it could be rated 20 amperes or less. I would've thought that a circuit supplying a sign or outline lighting would run alot of amps and would be allowed to be rated 20 amps or higher. Does anyone care to comment on this?
