I'm wondering how the Tesla Wall Connector system can allow up to four Wall Connectors on a common circuit. The text of 625.40 requires that each car charger outlet have an individual branch circuit. Each Wall Connector seems to me to be an "outlet installed for the purpose of charging electric vehicles". I don't see an "unless you install Tesla" clause or an "unless the systems cooedinate to assure the total load is within the rating of the conductors" clause. Maybe Tesla marketing doesn't keep up with the NEC? Maybe legal only in areas that have not adopted the 2017 or 2020 NEC?

A common feeder is allowable. The feeder can be undersized thanks to the load sharing feature of the WCs. But I agree, the code requires an individual branch circuit for each WC.
