Hey all,

I am considering purchasing a Nissan Leaf. The city of Atlanta's stated policy (which appears to be a misread of NEC 625.44) is that there is no residential cord and plug connected Level 2 EVSE:

Since I rent, I'm not going to have any electrical work done, leaving me with Level 1 charging at home.

Before I go talk to the AHJ about installing a single Level 2 charger (not a parking lot station) at my place of work, I want to make sure I understand 625.44 correctly. I'm hoping that someone with regular experience on EV chargers can clarify.

My reading of 625.44 would indicate that a 240V Level 2 charging station can be connected via cord and plug to an existing 240V NEMA receptacle in our warehouse as long as the cord and plug length does not exceed 6', the ampacity is <50A, and the mounting requirements are met. Is this correct?

Thanks as always,
