Does 680.51(A) include a submersible motor that is installed in a drilled hole that is cased and can be 100 to 1000 feet deep? These submersible motors are for getting water out of the ground to feed residential homes and/or crop irrigation. The heading for this section of code is titled "Part V. Fountains", but there are electricians that are saying that these type of submersible motor installations have to have GFCI's. I don't think that is the intent of this code. Please give me some clarification!
