NEC Allowing Sources Other Than DEG for Emergency Power

According to NEC 700.12 there other options for backup sources in the 2023 code cycle. However, most jurisdictions are at least one code cycle behind. How likely is the AHJ even going to accept or consider anything other than a DEG.

I have used a large UL 924 inverters as a battery source for thing like lighting and small exhaust fans. Not a problem
