Does anyone know offhand what the code violation would be using a pull out AC disconnect on a load other than an AC Unit. I know in certain sections they specify that a disconnect has to be of the type where the user is not exposed to live parts while using it which, I guess when you pull out the disconnecting means on an AC pullout the copper would be exposed in the back of the enclosure that somebody could theoretically touch. Does anybody know of anything different? Or is it just my AHJ that does not let you use an AC pull out on anything other than AC loads?
Thanks
Richie

I think I would ask him for a code reference. As long as the voltage and ampacity is within rating I am not aware of a violation in using a pull out for other applications. If you get a reference, I would be interested to learn it.
