Has this article changed from the 1993 Code? My question is, was it a violation to install a panel in a bathroom in the 1993 NEC?

Welcome to the forum.:)

240.24(E) is the same in the 1993 NEC as it is today. Overcurrent protective devices are not permitted in dwelling unit bathrooms.

The 93 reads like this;

240-24(e) Not Located in Bathrooms. In dwelling units and guest rooms of hotels and motels, branch-circuit overcurrent devices shall not be located in bathrooms as defined in Section 210-8.

This would probably help.:roll:

The 93 210.8 def;

Bathroom: As used in this article, a bathroom is an area including a basin with one or more of the following: a toilet, a tub, or a shower.
