NEC Article 409.110 requires, among other things, industrial controls to be marked with a short-circuit current rating that is based on either certified testing by UL or another Listing agency or by use of an approved method. UL 508A-2001 Supplement SB is given as an example of an "approved" method.
My question is: What other NEC "approved" methods are there to establish short-circuit current ratings of industrial control panels?

Definition of approved:

Approved. Acceptable to the authority having jurisdiction.

So any rating established utilizing an acceptable to the AHJ method.

Only the AHJ can approve a method.

Thank you.
If a local AHJ is obligated to enforce the 2005 NEC, what other methods would they allow?

The best advice that I can give you would be to check with the local AHJ and ask them what methods they will accept.

The FPN to 409.110(3) is for informational purposes only and not enforceable as a code.
