I am working on a Class I Division 2 rated industrial project. Trying to eliminate the external bonding jumpers across liquidtite flexible metal conduit.
Using liquidtite flexible metal conduit with fittings both listed for grounding (501.30 B exception 1). And all overcurrent protection is less than 10A (501.30 B exception 2). Exception #3 says load cannot be a power utilization load.
Also, I have received equipment (safety showers) with freeze protection heat tape and controls with liquidtite flexible metal conduit and fittings listed for grounding, and less than 10A, and with no external bonding jumper.
NEC article 100 defintions defines utilization equipment as 'equipment that utilizes electric energy for electronic, electromechanical, chemical, heating, lighting, or similar purposes.
So, exactly what devices comply with NEC 501.30 (B), exception (3)?
