I am looking for a practical method of complying with NEC 800.47. The idea is to have 240VAC lighting and power conductors in one conduit and ethernet/phone cable in a parallel conduit. Both conduits will enter the same in-ground pull box. Can anyone suggest manufacturers or methods to obtain a "suitable" brick, tile or concrete barrier to keep the wiring separated.??

The 'normal' way is to use separate pull boxes and if I am not mistaken there are labeling equipments for handhole covers.

A song ! :)

Well "Thick as a Brick" comes to mind".

I'd check with your AHJ and ask if you can build and add a divider of matching guage, and fasten with rivets.

Hoffman Box a local manufacture came to mind.

If your not going to replace you could see what they spec. here
This is a link to Hoffman box?s via Global spec web page.

I didn't research this site yet, but it looks industrial strength.
Global Spec www.globalspec.com/ I did link it for later...

A metal in-ground pull box?

Crouse-Hinds makes cast iron in-ground pull boxes, but they're stupid expensive. I think they're in their mining supplies catalogs. I think a standard 17 x 10 is like 1,000 bucks.

I've been using these green containers that look like sand pails with a lid... much cheaper than quazite boxes and they do the same job...
The one's the irrigation contractors use? Valve boxes, or some such thing.

They seem a little smaller than the ones i've been getting, I'll see if I can dig up a part #... The thing looks just like a sand pail, and has one bolt to hold the cover on, 1/4 twist to remove the cover also...

That would be great. I'm always up for trying out new stuff, particularly if it's a cost savings. The small Quazite boxes are only about 25 bucks, but sometimes the 'heavy duty-ness' of them seems like overkill for some jobs. Your description sounds like something I could use on occasion.

Quazite box

Quazite box

The Quazite box seems to be a fine idea. I see on their web sight that they actually make divided boxes, but have not yet found additional information or spec stating diminensions, material etc. This was a very helpful suggestion. Thank you

Boxes with barriers

Boxes with barriers

thank you, the quazite box seems useful as they do show that they are available with barriers or partitions, as does synertech, however they do not provide dimensions. my customer wants a single box and i'm not interested in telling them they can't have it just yet
