Re: NEC CODE

Starting at Article 500, the NEC addresses the possibility that the area surrounding electrical equipment might present a fire or explosion hazard. The type of hazard is designated with the ?Classification.? Class I relates to flammable gases or vapors. Class II relates to combustible dust. Class III relates to easily ignitable fibers. For each ?Class,? there are two ?Divisions.? Division 1 generally refers to hazards that are present during normal operation of the facility. Division 2 generally refers to hazards that are not normally present, but that might become present during an infrequent malfunction or an abnormal operation.

Re: NEC CODE

Thank you. Yes, I'm aware of Class 1 Group C & D, Class 2 etc. But I don't know how exactly NEC Area Classification ID1 relates to those expolsion proof Classes and Groups. That is the information I was looking for.
