I just signed up for a code class utilizing Mikes "Understanding the NEC", at a local JC. Hope it goes, the instructor is one of Mikes expert trainers. These courses are rare in northern California, and having one of Mikes experts makes it all the better. I feel very lucky at this point, and hope to learn as much as possible about the NEC, and I can guarantee everything I learn will be applied on the job at one point or another.

What school did you sign up at?

I think learning the NEC and keeping up with it is a life long and an ongoing process. I am sure you will gain alot of knowledge by attending the class but i strongly believe in an ongoing practice. Just get a practice book and do the questions.

Cosumnes River College in Sacramento, as part of their building inspection department. Hopefully enough people sign up that it is not cancelled. I agree, as with most parts of this trade, the NEC is something that I will never master, only race to try to keep up with.

Edward, I also agree with working the practice books with the NEC, but the classroom setting puts the proverbial gun to my head to actually do the work, as deadlines loom, however, my only goal is to learn more about the NEC, and applying it to work in the right manner.
