Does anyone keep track of which edition of the National Electrical Code is in affect by local jurisdictions throughout the USA? I checked with the NFPA and was told that they do not.

You would be lucky if you were to ask three employees of the same jurisdiction what codes apply in that jurisdiction, and get the same answer from all three!

They cover a lot of the Major cities. It would be impossible for one web site to keep track of every local jurisdiction. Now a days the best tool is to lookup the city you are interested in on the WEB. Most cities (worth looking for) have web sites and they publish all the codes that they have adopted. This reduces the number of phone calls that they have to respond to.
