In our departmental meeting today, we got into a hassle about the definition of the short horizontal conductor from the Equipment Grounding Bus to the enclosure in NEC Exhibit 250.1. Is it a ?bonding jumper? or ?equipment grounding conductor?? EGC FPN #1 seems to endorse it primarily as an EGC.

Suppose that ground bar has machine screws into the back box which in the real world it would. Therefore it doesn't need a name.

BTW welcome to the Forum. And the title to your thread should be NECHB...

Many here don't use the Handbook.

Let's fight about it. Since Chris is wishy washy on this I'll venture to say it's a bonding jumper. Hold on I am sure there will be others taking sides elsewhere. :D

I would also call the screw the bonding screw.

Yes sir. I believe the line in exhibit 250.1 was only to show the can is bonded.

How do you like not being able to copy and paste the exhibits? Thats real handy!

?? Why are you not able to cut and paste?

I believe you push the Ctrl key and then drag your pointer over the exhibt...which is then high lighted....copy it ....you do have to paste it to a photo [paint] program...then do a 'save a copy' [as a jpeg].

It is rather convoluted, but you do end up with a jpeg copy of the NECH exhibit.

That is how I have done it from the 2002 NECH-CD.
