The NFPA is the publisher of the NEC and they have expert staff in every panel meeting during the time of revising the NEC. This includes all of the meetings during the ROP, ROC, TCC, Standards Council, etc. This gives them a lot more insight into the explanations than "the other guys" who are there on a hit and miss basis.
In my opinion, the NFPA is better but it is just an opinion.
Well the reason I ask is, this last weekend I went to the big city and saw a McGraw-Hill edition.
I've used the NFPA editions in the past, but you never know unless you ask.
