Handbook.

I believe the op wants to know which handbook as there are a few.

I think this is the one others are referring to. It is put out by the NFPA

In past years McGraw Hill put out a good handbook, I haven't looked at a newer one so I can't give an opinion.

Just looking for some opinions. What is the better of all published NEC handbooks?
In my opinion, the NFPA handbooks are, by far, the best of the lot.

I have greatly enjoyed the use of a couple editions of the NFPA NEC Handbook in the electronic format, but, to my profound irritation, they have aged out of usability, largely caused by crippling digital rights management on the part of the NFPA.

I have given up on the electronic versions, for the durability and permanence of paper based formats.

I just sold my 2014 Handbook to Amazon, got a $104 credit. Later this year I will sell my 2014 NECs, but you need to do early in the 2017 cycle to get the most money for them.

I have the 2014 NEC Handbook published by the NFPA. Next cycle I will probably just buy the codebook; the commentaries have come in handy a few times but usually I just need the code.
