I finally loaded the 2014 nec handbook on to my iPad. The problem is I can only turn one page at a time. Makes the book worthless unless I plan to just read every page like you would a novel. Anybody have a solution?

It works fine on my computer but lately I have been using a desktop less and less and its on the second floor too far from my recliner

What PDF reader are you using? On Android there are many different free PDF viewers so you can pick one that you like. I agree with you, the mobile (bad) and desktop (good) experience vary greatly when reading the NEC.

Add to that the NEC (NFPA) keeps cutting down on bookmarks, too. Older PDF versions had bookmarks for part and section levels. The 2014 edition has been reduced to the article level. The NFPA online version has been rendered practically useless because of this reduction.

On the iPad im using iBook. On the desktop I'm using Adobe acrobat reader which works just fine. I just figured out I can search for a page number which doesn't do much for me or I can do a word search. With the word search it gives me way to many choices to be usefull

Even though a word search gives you lots of choices, the sidebar can show which major section each result is in. That makes it a lot easier to guess which ones fit your current needs.
And just the right combination of two or three words can help too.
If there is a way to force it to match only whole words I would like to know about that too.
