Does the NEC allow #14 MC cable as a whip for 2x4 troffers on a 20 amp circuit. This is going from the junction box to one light. I can't find the article on this.
It sounds like your installation may qualify as a tap conductor. Check out section 210.19(A)(4) Exception No. 1 (a) and (b) which also refers you to 410.67(C).
