The 2005 edition marks the 50th edition of the National Electrical Code

In other words no. It has ranged from 1 to 4 years if memory serves me correctly.

Mike I'm impressed you have the dates so handy. Do you have copies for all of them? :)

He doesn't need to have copies. He has them all memorized! :wink: 8) :lol:

Thanks for the compliment Charlie. I memorized them right off this CD. It can be found on the first page of any NEC code book.
 
I stand corrected. Maybe I should have said the latest editions of the NEC. It is not in the 1975 but is in the 1984. I don?t have the ?78 and ?81 cycles.
 
Here's an answer from CA.

The NEC says: This code is purely advisory as far as NFPA is concerned. It is nade available for a wide variety of both public and private uses in the interest of life and property protection. These include both use in law and for regulatory purposes and use in private self-regulation and nagement and product testing and certification.

The CA Electrical Code says: The California Building Standards Code is published in its entirety every three years by order of the California legislature, with supplements published in intervening years.

My guess is they do it that way because that's how long it takes us to find where they moved everything too. :wink:
