I have seen solar and fire pump on the line side of the Service Entrance equipment. Is there an NEC limitation or standard practice that can be added on the line side of the service entrance equipment? For example, can any other alternative energy source (like a battery) be added on the line-side of the service entrance. Here by service entrance I mean the first panel downstream of the utility transformer.
