NEC Table 430.52

I have a brief question relative to the table 430.52. This table list maximum ratings or settings of motors branch circuit protective devices which leave me to believe it could be something less than that if motor will start. Let say 125% in lieu of 250% for an inverse time breaker as shown.

The Table is the maximum allowed so it can certainly be a lesser size.
Since in 430.52 it's only providing GFSC protection you would not want it to be so low as to trip unnecessarily om in-rush..
