I think you meant Table 400.5(A).

To answer your question, for an NEC compliant installation you cannot qualify SO cord larger than #2 without special investigation, per 400.4 and Table 400.4.

Thanks! I?m not sure what ?special investigation? means. I assume it would be something the manufacture would have to do like a listing.

The term ?special investigation? is used twice in the NEC, in the same context. The NEC fails to incite its meaning.
