Re: NEC

YES,if in a garage then GFCI is requires or as here if a single non gfci receptacle must be labled appliance use only.

Re: NEC

This is a local requirement and I think it is stupid but with a $20 label machine we pass.

Re: NEC

My inspector wrote me because it was "electrical space only nothing within 30" and 36. I did not read it that way.

Re: NEC

if its wrong/against NEC then i have a lot of receptacles near, under panel boxes...and never been questioned/tagged.....

Re: NEC

Is it not required that any local amendments or codes be published ? or could they just keep them a secret and sell them one at a time for a re inspect fee ?
Allen as far as i know we have none in pasco ,hillsborough or city of Tampa
when did they start wanting non gfci labeled.
And saying appliance to average home owner would mean plug that drill in here.
As to what NEC says it says in front of the panel and if this is in the wall or just under surface mount then it is not in front of it

Re: NEC

Maybe, just maybe if the panel is flush and the receptacle is surface mounted he has an argument. Otherwise the receptacles is either behind the face of the panel or even with it.

But like cs409 said, if this is wrong then we all have alot of illegal panel receptacles out there.

Re: NEC

if its wrong i have hundreds i better go fix right now, (not moving to fast)
Got a lot of T POLES to fix too.
If we followed that 30 by 36 rule to the letter then every time you work on a panel you have a violation

Ask him to read all of 110.26(A)(3) and get back to you.
