Hey guys I was wondering what year of the NEC is used in pa I currently live in NYC and we over here are using 2008 what about you guys using
I see that is dated 2/1..…. Are any poor bastards on the 2023 now?
I that took effect Feb 17.I can't believe there isn't a state that is using the 2023. Massachusettes has always been the state that accepted the NEC by the first of Jan. on the year of that code.
From what stateI'm moving to Kansas or Indiana.....
New York. Actually it's not too bad here, 2017 NEC and third party electrical inspections where I amFrom what state
We did the same here, jumped from 08 to 17. Also jumped right out of the amendments we had for AFCI, which was bedrooms only!Well I honestly hope that the two states on the 2008 don't follow the lead of Hawaii and jump over 2 or 3 code cycles and adopt the 2020 or 2023. We skipped out on the 11 and the 14 and adopted the 17. That caused me personally to be unsure of code now, before that I had 2008 memorized almost, due to the full decade we were under the 08. It may make it easier on the building departments to skip versions but it makes it difficult for the actual installers, regardless of the half day once in every three years code changes continuing ed class. Perhaps the young-un's
in the trade can remember every detail of a 4 hr jammed session to review code changes 6 yrs after sitting thru that class, but at my age I cannot be counted so lucky and fortunate. I didn't even buy a copy of the 11 or 14 books due to the lapse the county allowed itself..........
