fittings 300.15 i am aving a hard time figuring this out

is an acess door required for all fittings

fittings are permitted only on the wiring method for which they are listed. 2 1/2 in. rmc and you use a 2 1/2 in emt connector.

I think it means, when you switch from knob and tube wiring to romex. You must use a box.

And knob and tube has a material sleeve used as a fitting.
