If I am reading (250.121) correctly, an equip ground may be used as a grounding electrode conductor for a transformer. Can the equip ground be fed through various sub panels to service if all other requirements are met? If I read 250.64(E)(1) right, for such an install to meet code, a bonding bushing would be required each time the equip ground enters and leaves a panel-lock nuts would not meet the 250.64(E)(1) requirement, correct?

Greetings Wyboy,

I noticed (and I don't visit much) that your question has been unanswered for nearly a week so I will chime in.

Here is what Section 250.121 actually says:

250.121 Use of Equipment Grounding Conductors. An equipment grounding conductor shall not be used as a grounding electrode conductor.

Exception: A wire-type equipment grounding conductor installed in compliance with 250.6(A) and the applicable requirements for both the equipment grounding conductor and the grounding electrode conductor in Parts II, III, and VI of this article shall be permitted to serve as both an equipment grounding conductor and a grounding electrode conductor.

So the short answer to your question is YES. As long as you (as stated) can meet all the requirements demanded for both EGC's and GEC's as detailed in Part II, III and VI then YES.
