Hey all,

I'm considering getting the NECAs manual of labor units. The PDF I have found us $300. Is it worth it? Anyone got better deals they know of? It sounds like a good resource. Thanks for the feedback.

its good but are you using it for estimating, T&M or change orders. Do you use an estimating program?
if you are an electrician and unit price it wont help you so much.
Example if you are a working guy and look at a 4 inch galvanized elbow it like 4 hours. to install an elbow.... wow...... What that dont explain is that the 10 ft length needed to be cut and threaded and carrying it to the location and setting up the vise and and and... so just getting the book might help a bit but it all depends on what you want to use it for....

Mostly want it for estimates. No I don't use a program but I think I'm going to start soon.

Most packages come with labor units you’ll need to customize.
Yes, but not really that much. NECA are usually available in software packages, but no one uses them unless for change orders.
You would get crushed using NECA units on a competitive bid

Can anyone verify if the NECA manual is the same as why is in Mike’s business textbook? If so, is it geared all toward the commercial side, or residential also?
