1. If the building is fully protected by a automatic fire suppression system, and we run emergeny feeder above the ceiling, will these emergency feeder comply with NEC 700.9(D)(1)?

2. Anyone know any example of listed - fire rated assembly that they allow to use per NEC 700.9(D)(4)?

Thanks!

Yeah, Sheetrock, tape, compound and metal structural components assembled per the UL orange book.

Thanks but not answer my question... How do we run emergency feeder from elec. room A to elec. room B (they are not stack) inside a building and comply with NEC 700.9(D)(1) anyone? I assume the conduit has to be run above ceiling at some point.

There are many methodes to achieve a 1 , or 2 hour fire rating. The orange book works but there are also cables such as MI that will achieve your goal search the net and you might also check out http://www.r-scc.com/

Actually it does as far as NEC 700.9(D)(4). You could run the feeder in EMT and have it wrapped with Sheetrock.

As far as 700.9(D)(1) it appears if the building has a full sprinkler system you could use standard wiring methods.

MI cable could be used for 700.9(D)(6)
