trying to locate any standards (UL, NEMA, IEC) that address interchangeability of plug/receptacles
particularly preventing the mixing of voltages
ie, can't plug a 480 into a 600, or vice versa
keying, dimensionally, etc.

found the IEC 60309 Part 2

don't need the standard, only the number and the general description of the intent

I think UL 1682 and 1686 may apply

Try UL 498 for plugs and receptacles up to 200A and 600V
