Need advice for selecting a career oriented course

I am planning to take a CWB certification. For that I have decided to join a welding school.. My aim is to get a job in ships for the maintenance and repairs in passenger ships. The institute where I am planning to go is private. Through post secondary institutes also we get the certification. Which will be a better choice reach my destination? What all preparations I have to do for getting that job?

What does this have to do with electrical. CWB is a welding certification and you are in an electrical forum.
