I have an existing equipment(s) that has a ground rod and grounding points I will install a new equipment the same with the existing equipment(s), can I still use the grounding system for the new equipment or I need to make a new grounding system.

If this is a supplementary grounding system, you can install it in any manner that satisfies the person that is requesting it. The NEC does not specify how supplementary grounding is to be installed as it is not required by code. You MUST install the required Equipment Grounding Conductor as required by article 250 in addition to this supplementary ground.

You "must" use the existing grounding system. If you want to install an added gnd rod, it must be bonded the the existing system ground.

Thought: Is this an assumption that the poster has more than one grounding electrode present? Yet, what if the only grounding electrode is a metal underground water pipe? See 250.53(D)(2)

Just to add, if you have exsiting ground rods, I wouldn't add anything to them, because you run the risk of attaching to a rod(s) that's been cut. I would drive two new rods.

Just my input!

I concur. There may be situations where one should not... but with the OP stated as it is, I don't see this as one of those situations.

New equipment? Service "upgrade" or what? If so, then you need to change your grounding.
