Need Help - Diesel Generator

I need some clarification on whether or not the installation of a diesel generator is classified as a hazardous location. Generators (4 of them) are installed in an enclosed generator room in a parking garage. Room is ventilated and generator exhaust is ventilated to exterior. I've read several articles that indicated since diesel is combustible and not flammable the location is not considered hazardous. Is this correct??

I doubt the area will need to be classified, however I would certainly check with an AHJ whom can make the final call on this.

Looking at International Fire Code it depends to a large degree if fuel for the generators is stored in the room in question. If so how much and how is it stored.
