Maybe you guys can help me out. I need to find a wiring schematic for an old Westinghouse 5-Star Motor Starter we are going to reuse on a project. The starter info I can find is GO# ST27420-1C and wiring diagram WD-1. Looks like the starter was installed in 1981. I have tried calling a couple of vendors here in town, but none can seem to track a copy down. I appreciate any help.

motor starter ...

motor starter ...

I know this may sound a bit dumb but ... I believe ... "A Starter Is A Starter" ...

You may be able to find a basic diagram in an "Uglies" Book ...

Line and Load wires should be obvious ... control wire should be routed in series with the "Overloads" and then there is a holding contact available for a 3 wire control ... don't remember exactly how that is wired at the moment ... all my books are at work right now ... on r&r so not available ... keep me informed as to your sucess ... Westinghouse Electric was "disestablished" in 1997. Its name was changed to CBS Corporation until it was bought by Viacom.

The fission of Westinghouse can be seen, in part, by the links here.

That was Westinghouse broadcasting. Westinghouse Electric was split up into a myriad of chunks sold to the highest bidders. Eaton (a.k.a. Cutler Hammer) bought the motor control division. They still have records of all the old Westinghouse stuff, but they will charge you for it.

Mario is right however, a starter is a starter. NEMA / JIC wiring diagrams were, at that time, very standardized. This diagram book is for Sq. D., but should be the same terminal markings as that West. starter.

If you will note the "WD-1" is included in my reference to "Y00331WD-1.DWF"
I should give you the schematic which you are looking for.
