Need help picking out a 400 Amp meter-main-load center???
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can I get some recommendations on my choices for a 400 amp meter-main-load center? Basically, the service panel has been approved to be inside a small utility room so size is important. The smaller in all dimensions, the better. I will have approximately the following loads coming from it at this time and would need some room for expansion/additional loads: 1.) 2 pole-100feeding a remote subpanel. 2.) 2 pole -20 for A/C. 3.) 2 pole-50 for pool equipment 4.) and around qty. (10) 120v 20 amp circuits. So as you can see, I would need for it to have somewhere in the neighborhood of 16-20 poles of breaker space availability. Any help and/or feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks! :)

a SqD SU3040D400CN is 41-1/4h x 28-1/4w has a 200a 30/40 panel in it plus space for a second main breaker to feed a subpanel.

SqD Homeline, Cutler Hammer and Seimans all make a similar panel for around $400. This one is Cutler hammer. Second 200 amp breaker to feed another panel is sold seperately for about $100 (mounts to the right of the other one).
