need help with door switch

I have a remodeled house and the cable for a closet door-activated switch was put on the srong side and was not caught til trim-time. I need to know if there is a switch that will work on the "un-hinged" side. I have only seen ones for the hinged side and was wondering if any of the more experienced guys have came accross this and what their solution was. BTW: this closet is plaster walls and ceiling and have already been patched and would rather not incurr the cost of re-fishing wire. Thank you all for any replys/help. Thanks, JOE

Yeah, ball contact and use a RIB relay in the fixture.

Use a magnetic activated switch, and mount a magnet on the door.

Connect it to a relay switch that mounts at the fixture.

that one is a solid state relay, i wonder if it leaks enough current to make CFLs randomly flash

You could try to use a small cabinet hinge like the lever on a microswitch. Or maybe even a piece of springy brass.
